  • Act of Kindness from an Opposing Team Makes a Difference – Pictured are the Bonney Lake and BHHS girls soccer teams after the match.

Bonney Lake High School learned that Jim Brown, the parent of a Black Hills High School soccer player and also a local fire captain was battling stage IV cancer. The team decided to show their support. Coach Farris shared: “Our players made banners with the rallying slogan he and their community have been using, #HOLDFAST. Along with banners of large white ribbons (the lung cancer symbol color), and a ‘BLHS (Hearts) U!’ sign to welcome them at the admission booth. We put his story in the game program and announced his name and welcomed him during the pregame. The girls wore white ribbons in their hair and gave white roses to his daughter (their opponent) on the sideline… When the game was over Jim Brown and the opposing coach asked if we could take team pics with both teams and Jim... And then, it was as if the players didn’t even want to leave. Opposing players were sharing cell numbers and info, creating instant friendships - people were lingering and basking in the moment. We speak to our team about goals and purpose... Our goals for our team are competitive in nature... We had a goal to do several things during the match that we had been working on in training, and win the game. But we always realize we have a purpose that is much bigger than any game could ever be.”

  • Emergency Information

Each school year parents/guardians must complete and sign an Emergency Information form. (Click on headline for form) This form provides an annual update of your child's health status and gives the school permission to authorize the transport and provide emergency treatment for your child should the need arise. Please remember to notify the school for any changes in the names and/or phone numbers of the emergency contacts for your child. Life Threatening Conditions Washington State Law requires schools to have in place emergency care plans for any student with a "potentially life-threatening health condition" before the child begins attending school. This may include, but is not limited to, children with severe allergies, severe asthma, diabetes, or a severe seizure disorder. For more information related to life threatening health conditions, please contact the school nurse at your child's school (Health Services Schedule).
